What are the symptoms of grief

Grief affects us in many different ways—emotionally, physically, and mentally. In this video, we explore the common symptoms of grief to help you better understand what you or someone you care about might be experiencing. From feelings of sadness, anger, and confusion to changes in sleep, appetite, and concentration, grief can show up in many forms. Recognizing these symptoms is an important step toward healing and self-compassion. This video offers clear, compassionate information to support you through difficult times.

Grief can come from many kinds of loss: a loved one, a relationship, a job, an opportunity, even a diagnosis. Two hosts explore how grief shows up and the five stages many people move through. In this video: • How grief feels in the body: heaviness, shallow breath, a tight chest, a lump in the throat. • The five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. • Why the stages don't always come in order, and why that's okay. • Moving from the "what ifs" of the mind into the trust of the heart. • Why grief doesn't disappear, but joy can grow alongside it, and life can be beautiful again. Good for anyone grieving, or supporting someone who is.
